Program Notes:
Lifestream Center is privileged to present its second piano concert given by Dr. Arnold Popkin, of Charlotte-sville, VA. Those in the audience at Dr. Popkin’s concert in September, 2002, gave him standing ovations – not only for his technical expertise, but, more importantly, for his ability to express the mood and beauty of the music. And all of this was enhanced by Dr. Popkin’s own delightful program notes before each piece.

Dr. Popkin’s Program:
Rachmaninoff – Prelude in C Sharp Minor, Prelude in G Minor • Greig – Nocturne • Chopin – Waltz in A Flat Major, Fantasie Impromptu, Nocturne in E Flat Major, Polonaise in A Flat Major • Addisell – Warsaw Concerto • Granadoes – Spanish Dance No. 2 • Liszt – Liebestraum, Mephisto Waltz

Dr. Popkin has lived with a great musical talent all his life, beginning the piano at three years old. And though he chose to follow a career in medicine, he enriched his life and career with his love for music and his ability to bring depth and richness to the compositions of his favorite composers. His musical credentials include awards in competitions and the recording of six CDs which are available to the public.

The program will feature works by Rachmaninoff, Greig, Chopin, Addisell, Granados, and Liszt. The concert will be followed by an artist’s reception.

So, music lovers, mark your calendars for Saturday, March 29, at 8 p.m., and join us for an elegant evening with Dr. Arnold Popkin. For more information, call Lifestream at 344-3031.
