Reflexology: Get the Vision
Have you been looking for a way to help the people in your life or in your community? Would you like to find some way to relax? Reflexology can fulfill both of those wishes. As a trained Reflexologist, you can bring relief and relaxation to people while promoting overall health and healing. As a Reflexology client, you can receive the health benefits of acupressure applied on the feet and hands through the process of thumb-walking.
Still trying to figure out what Reflexology is? Lets see a typical appointment from a clients perspective:
I walked into the therapy room and sat in the anti-gravity chair. The Reflexologist said I could sit in the chair or lay on my back on the massage table, but the chair is very comfortable and I can see how the session works. With my shoes and socks off I leaned back in the chair which reclined, and I notice the soothing music in the background as the Reflexologist sanitized my feet with a wonderful smelling spray.
The Reflexology session started with the practitioner loosening up my feet and ankles, actually forcing my body to let go of the tension in my ankles with some simple rotation movements. The Reflexologist then started on my toes. Its amazing how many sensations I could feel as her thumbs walked over my feet. Some places were more tender or sensitive than other places, and when I inquired, the Reflexologist informed me of how that spot correlated to another body part and even to emotions Id been having.
This was more than a foot massage. The thumb-walking was firm but gentle and I could feel other parts of my body relaxing and adjusting as the entire foot was worked. About halfway through my session the Reflexologist switched from my left to my right foot. I was informed that while many of my organs and meridians are represented in both feet some organs are only recognizable in one or the other. This point was made most clear as the Reflexologist worked on my intestinal reflexes, because she started on my right foot and continued onto my left foot in perfect harmony - replicating the flow of the intestines from one side of my body to the other.
So as I sat in my session I noticed that the thumb-walking had loosened up painful places in my feet, and even if I didnt fully understand it, the correlating area of my body has also loosened up and felt better.
Today I walked into my appointment with an earache that radiated down my throat and, after my session, I didnt have the pain anymore. Also when I stood up out of the Reflexology chair my body felt lighter and looser. Its amazing what thumb-walking and a good Reflexologist can do!
